Let's be honest: most people get bored in a hospital, doctor's, or dentist's waiting room, with the few distractions being a couple of magazines covered in dust and germs from being handled too often. Add to that the stress of illness or pain, plus the whirring of the dentist's drill, which terrifies so many children.

And that's when I think: "Why not suggest something much more exciting?"

The alternative? Large panels with 3D images, as spectacular as they are immersive. That should help patients—especially children!—relax and make the wait less tedious. As for apartments, this could provide teenagers with some serious alternatives for decorating their rooms, with beautiful 3D posters instead of 2D Justin Bieber, Tokyo Hotel, and Rihanna. All you need are small, two-tone glasses.

The following is a selection of apartments, medical offices, and other professional spaces featuring unusual decor—certainly far from the usual drabness. You've already seen others in the "Painters" section.
