It's said that less than 2% of French children attend music lessons. I'll make a confession: class photos are fun, well, they could be much more fun, I mean in MY way (!), far from the eternal cliché of an entire class lined up in neat rows across three or four levels.

These days, with digital photography, you can do much better and in greater quantities for next to nothing! As for music classes, they offer the unique appeal of musical instruments, which are always beautiful objects. And besides, the young people you meet in these kinds of places always seem to have a bit more talent than others (I'm thinking in particular of certain Playstation enthusiasts!).

I must say that in my long experience of teaching, particularly at home (where you get to know the students and their families in an intimate setting), I have observed that my best students were often young musicians, as it is true that practicing a musical instrument or an artistic activity (e.g., classical dance) is a discipline (a term with multiple meanings!) that teaches you rigor and forges character...
